You will be amazed at what we can capture in just 20 minutes! My sessions are designed to be focused and efficient, yet feel entirely relaxed and joyful. My years of experience working with dogs of all temperaments mean we can make the most of every moment without feeling rushed. I'll gently guide you and your dog through a series of fun interactions designed to capture the authentic expressions and cherished bonds I know you’ll love.

Your safety and the creation of beautiful portraits are my top priorities. I will monitor the forecast closely, and in the event of truly prohibitive weather (like heavy rain, dangerous winds or blizzard), I will make the call to cancel the sessions for that day.
Please note that due to the highly limited, seasonal nature of this special event, there are no weekend rain dates. Should a cancellation occur, your non-refundable payment will be converted into a full studio credit, valid for one year towards any future session or product purchase. This ensures that no matter what the Michigan weather brings, your investment is protected and will result in beautiful portraits. Agreement to this policy is required to book.

Q: What if my dog won't sit still or is nervous in new places?
A: This is the most common worry I hear from clients, so you are not alone! Please know that my sessions are designed to be fun and relaxed for dogs of all personalities. A perfect 'sit-stay' is absolutely not necessary to create beautiful portraits. My expertise is in connecting with each dog, understanding their comfort level, and using play-based techniques to capture their genuine character. We will go at your dog's pace to ensure the experience is positive and joyful.
Q: Are leashes required at the farm?
A: Yes. The safety of your pet is my top priority, and Hillside Christmas Tree Farm requires that all dogs remain on a leash at all times. Please don't worry about this affecting your final portraits, as leashes can be seamlessly removed from any artwork you choose to purchase.
Q: Can I be in the photos with my dog? What if I have multiple dogs?
A: Yes, absolutely! You are welcome and encouraged to be in the photos to capture the special bond you share. The session fee covers up to two dogs from the same household and their human family. My "Holiday Keepsake" package includes up to two dogs from the same household and their family.
A third dog may be added for an additional fee of $75. To ensure we have enough time to create beautiful portraits of everyone, families with four or more dogs are required to book two back-to-back sessions.

If you're looking for someone who understands the 'always covered in dog hair' life, you've found her. I'm Sarah, and I'm a photographer who's completely obsessed with animals. Seriously, I'm their mom, and I'd do anything for them. And honestly, meeting your dogs? It's one of my favorite things!
I've always loved photography, but it's capturing the connection between pets and their people that truly fills me with joy. I want to create art that shows the real moments, the silly grins, the quiet cuddles, the pure love that fills your home. And yes, my clothes will probably have dog hair on them when we meet – it's just part of the job (and the joy!).
