Embark Creative Sessions

A chance to create something special with the dog you love

I’m creating a small number of thoughtful creative sessions over the coming months for specific photography challenge concepts.

These are short, focused sessions built around one idea, one dog, and one finished image. If your dog is selected, I’ll plan the session around a specific theme and create something intentional, expressive, and a little different from an everyday session.

If your dog is selected, here’s what’s included:

  • A waived session fee

  • One gifted digital image

  • $350 artwork credit

Why apply?

  • Your dog could be part of a special creative session created for an international photography competition

  • A unique session focused on creating specific concepts

  • You’ll receive one gifted digital image

  • You’ll receive $350 artwork credit

Current concepts I’m scouting for:

  • Up Ups — dogs comfortable getting up on logs, rocks, benches, or similar features

  • City Slicker — dogs confident in urban environments with noise, people, and distractions

  • Splash — dogs who genuinely love water

  • Party Time — playful, animated dogs who love interaction, toys, or movement

What Is Embark?

Embark is a six-month interactive dog photography challenge series from Unleashed Education. Each challenge focuses on a different creative theme, helping photographers build new shooting skills, create more variety, and submit images for feedback and awards consideration. Top images may be featured during the course, with final awards at the end of the program.

That means I’m not just looking for any dog. I’m looking for dogs whose personality, confidence, training, and interests make them a beautiful fit for a specific idea.

For example:

  • Up Ups is ideal for a dog who is comfortable getting up on logs, rocks, benches, or similar features

  • City Slicker is best for a dog who feels confident in busier, more urban environments

  • Splash is perfect for a dog who genuinely loves water

  • Party Time needs a dog who loves play, movement, and interaction

If your dog is chosen, I’ll handle the planning so the session feels easy and intentional.

How It Works

1. Apply

Fill out the interest form below and tell me a little about your dog.

2. I review for fit

Because each challenge has a very specific brief, I’ll choose dogs based on training, confidence, comfort, and overall fit for the concept.

3. I reach out when the right concept is a match

If your dog seems like a strong fit for an upcoming challenge, I’ll be in touch with next steps.

Who I’m Looking For

These sessions are best for dogs who already have a solid foundation of training and are comfortable following direction in new environments.

It helps if your dog is:

  • Able to follow cues reliably

  • Comfortable holding position briefly

  • Motivated by treats, toys, or praise

  • Confident in new places

  • Able to work on leash if needed

  • Happy, relaxed, and safe in the type of environment required

For some concepts, I may also be looking for dogs who have:

  • A strong stay or place cue

  • Confidence getting up on objects

  • Urban confidence around sounds, people, and movement

  • A genuine love of water

  • A playful personality suited to action images

Why These Sessions Are Different

These sessions are a little different from my full custom experience.

They’re built around a single creative goal, which means I’m choosing dogs based on fit for the concept first.

If your dog is selected, I’ll guide the process and keep everything centered on what feels safe, positive, and natural for them.

A Few Important Notes

  • Submitting this form does not guarantee selection

  • I’ll only choose dogs who are the right fit for each concept

  • Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first

  • I will never force a dog into a situation they are not comfortable with

  • If your dog is selected, I’ll share session details before we book
